Carlisle City Council

Carlisle City Council, is a district authority providing services to 55,000 households and a population of 103,700 in both urban and rural locations. The services the City Council provide, support the local environment such as award winning parks and green spaces, recycling and clean streets. Strengthening Carlisle's economic position is also a priority in helping the city to grow.

The City Council works alongside Cumbria Tourism, Hadrian's Wall Limited and tourism businesses to promote Carlisle as a key visitor attraction. Together they aim to improve areas such as tourism accommodation and attractions, conference and meetings sector as well as events and festivals. This will help to improve Carlisle's potential as a tourism destination, putting the city on the map for local, national and international visitors.
